Club Annual Awards
Presented at the Annual (October) Banquet
- Rider Shootout: September tournament format to honor the clubs first president, John Rider. All members compete in one flight, handicapped and we award the first nine places, 3 first, 3 second, and 3 third, ties are broken by back nine net total, number one handicap hole, etc. Overall winner (determined by tie breaker, if required) will receive a prize award at the Annual Banquet.
- Most Improved Golfer: Recommended by the NCGA, reviewed by the club officers.
- Top Gun: Player with lowest four tournaments total, net scores. First place receives a Prize Award, and the Top Gun Plaque, a perpetual plaque (must be an active member the next season to take plaque home). Awards presented for three places, ties are broken by using best 3 low rounds, 2 low rounds, 1 low round, back nine, etc.
- Club Champion: The July and August Tournaments will determine the Club Champion. Ties are broken by using the August Tournament net score, then back nine net total, then sudden death at the first handicap hole, etc. (voted 2010). Club Champion qualification: the Club Champion must have a minimum of 20 rounds posted to be eligible (Voted 2008). Players winning their flight and players with lowest net score ties in regular tournaments Nov-Jun will qualify for first round of the Club Championship plus the top five "Place Award" winners that did not have a first place finish. Using the players 4 best low net scores breaks Place Award fifth place ties. If none have 4 rounds then use 3 rounds, etc. (Note: awards from other formats, side games, closest to the pin, hole in one, are not considered Place Awards). Also, a first place in a Club Championship Tournament or the Rider Shootout qualifies you for next year's Club Championship. In addition to the above, all members who have played in at least 5 of the season Tournaments leading up to the Club Championship, are also qualified (voted 2020).
